a titanic heart and an iceberg mind
an unsinkable spirit, soul filled with glee
stars in her eyes, she’s one of a kind
one day she will learn to love me
born out of a constellation
every atom, a different galaxy
heart calling out for love's attention
one day she will learn to love me
she’s dancing to her own rhythms
and rhyming her own poetry
devil-may-care, coloring her own rainbow
one day she will learn to love me
weight of uncertainty crushing desire
as I tumble down, hoping to flee
her image vanishing into wispy mist
one day she will learn to love me
one day she walked away, never looking back
it was only then I saw the sad truth
I was staring at the mirror, hoping
to see what others see
I am desperate, I am praying
that one day I will learn to love me
