Infinite Resignation
Detergent probably brings a tide of bitterness to the tongue – likely poisonous too if ingested – but it’s meant to make clothes clean again anyway. Meanwhile, cardinal sins are the opposite – untidy, if you will – as committing such are said to sully the soul so much that only an eternal boiler is the fitting treatment.
Imagine the affected residents going to an evacuation center with the whole barangay thinking that maybe they are safe from the angry waters in the streets, but not from a deadly virus spreading within said supposed haven. Imagine receiving the authorities’ attention only when it affects the produce market and not on the other times local farmers need them. Demanding the government’s accountability in situations like this is the citizens’ duty to uphold everyone’s well-being.
